2010
Denver Marathon now the
Denver Rock and Roll Marathon
We
will again be supporting the Denver Rock and Roll Marathon Crew in
producing a fantastic event with nearly 15000 runners expected.
This will be 2 times what it was last year.
Rocky Mountain Ham's regular
support team has been asked to provide communications support again, and
we will be doing it again. This will be the 5th year for Denver
Area Ham Support as well as RMHAM's involvement. From the
inception of the race in 2006, we've enjoyed the great training
opportunities this affords the area's hams and believe it to be a
worthwhile venture.
It will require similar support to
last year, but we are looking forward to handing life safety and welfare
for the course, and ensuring that all runners make it back to where they
are supposed to be.

June
2010 ARRL VHF QSO Party
Well folks, we had a great contest
this year. From getting the antennas finished about 5 hours early
to being rained on for the whole weekend, it was a
challenge. Our team this year was very full and it was a good
thing we had all of the hands we did.
Our score this year unaudited was
210,455 points with 773 QSOs on 245 grids. This is a tremendous
showing for Colorado and we are so glad we could do it.
Special
thanks to N0VBY, AB0SF, W0KU, K0RM, W0CBI, N0AH, W0ANT, W0PSS, KD0BQD
and N9DUX for braving the elements and helping us pull of 35%
better than we did last year!

RMHAM
Installs MotoTRBO
2/13/10 - Mike Mullarkey, k7PFJ has
installed RMHAM's first
MotoTRBO Digital system at Lee Hill above Boulder. It's coverage
is excellent in the Denver Metro Area and will soon be linked along the
front range and parts west!
For system, programming information
and radio help, please go to MotoTRBO
above.
Initial audio reports on the system
are excellent and the coverage is great. Feel free to stop by.
It's a fantastic system.
W0KU
and N0WBW Get The Front

A great shot from our teardown from
June 2009 VHF Contest. Photo taken by W0KVA of Scott and John
taking down the UHF antennas after another fantastic contest year.
A quick spreadsheet of scores from
the June 2009 ARRL VHF QSO Party shows us that we've beat our 2008 score
hands down! We really hope to see you in Limon in 2009.
It will be a great year!

RMHAM
Assists the Veteran's
Administration for NDMS 2010
4/14/2010
Rocky Mountain Ham Radio provided ambulance dispatch services for NDMS
2010 "Mountain Move" at Signature Air Service at Denver International
Airport. This is our second year and was very well received by all
of the agencies involved. With most Front Range ARES Groups being
involved, it was an excellent event to showcase our capabilities as well
as a fantastic training opportunity.
The Veteran's Administration was the initiator of the
exercise and had personnel from all over the United States. They
were quite surprised at all of the capabilities that we provide and that
our trailer has more capability than most State and Homeland security
vehicles!
Kudos go out to all of you that worked the exercise.
More shots of the whole event are in the
Gallery.
